Given the growing incidents of mobile phone theft, the government has now taken firm steps.  Such arrangements have been made that the part of the country where the mobile phone is stolen can be caught in the whole country.  The government had been engaged in this work for a long time, and now the system is working.


People can call their helpline on their mobile phone as soon as they are stolen and file their details.  As soon as this explanation will be put into the system it will spread throughout the country.  After this thief will use this phone as soon as the thief gets caught.





Successful Trials in Maharashtra

 This system was started in Maharashtra.  The system was completely successful there.  Now this software has been assigned to the police of every state of the country.  It will be turned on in a few days.  It is expected that the Department of Telecommunications will officially launch it in 1-2 weeks and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will announce this.



Know helpline number


 For help on mobile theft, the government has issued a helpline number.  Now any country can register a complaint on the helpline number 14422.  As soon as this helpline number comes up, it will be sent to mobile companies and soon mobile companies will block this mobile phone.  After this its usage will not be anywhere in the country.




How will this system work

 Every mobile phone has a special number, which is called the EMEI number.  It is a special number of every mobile phone, and companies install it only during the formation of this mobile phone.  Some people tamper with this EMEI, but for such people, now the government has made provision of 3 years of sentence.





Government has prepared Central Equipment Identity Register

 The government has prepared the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR).  This software has been designed by C-DOT itself.  There will be room for improvement whenever it is needed due to being indigenous.


What was the system so far

 So far, losing the mobile phone could have been discovered to the concerned state.  Often mobile steals were sold in the second state after its theft.  In this case, it was difficult for the police to find stolen mobile phones.


But as soon as the mobile phone theft is reported, it can be sent all over the country together.  As soon as this happens, the mobile of the stolen mobile will not be able to work in any part of the country, and the thief will be caught as soon as he tries to run it.  The Central Telecom Ministry has started this service from Maharashtra Circle in May this year and it will be implemented in 21 telecom circles remaining in the country till December
